Mailbox Monday is a traveling meme host this January by Alyce of At Home With Books
Nook:
I have this in paperback copy, but its BN's "Free Friday" selection (though it's been free all week), so I went and downloaded it. My junior year of high school, my history class had his Don't know much about History as assigned reading, and I loved it. Great way to get history to those who aren't big on reading it.
Purchases:
Headed down to the farmer's market for my annual pummelo hunt last weekend, and stopped into the used bookstore there, and found these two there. I already have the Cleopatra book in paperback to read, but hardcover, with cover and in good condition for $6, how do I pass that up?

I'll probably post thoughts on The Kingmaking once the discussion questions in the group get going.

I'd like to see what you think of the Hollick book.
I have Leviathan but it's still sitting in my tbr pile. Look forward to seeing what you think of it. I LOVE the Book Thief. I can't recommend that one enough.
I'm looking forward to your thoughts on The Book Thief. It's one of my favourites. I've been meaning to read The Memoirs of Cleopatra for ages -- I even started it last year but put it down. I need to get back to it! I'll be starting The Kingmaking very soon.
I really enjoyed Leviathan. I must not have paid attention to the blurb as the alternate history of WWI surprised me a bit. Alan Cumming did a great job on the narration for this.
I don't think I've heard a person yet who has not liked The Book Thief. I hope to start it Monday
I really need to start some of George's books. I've got three of them sitting on my shelf waiting for time
Haven't yet read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, but want to get to it before I see the movie. PLEASE review this one, because I've heard a lot about it, but haven't come across a review in the blogosphere yet.
Ok, I will. I'm hoping I can get it finished before the library takes it back
